Seafood assurance has a major role to play; the benefits of sustainable fisheries and fish farm and the need to have safe and high-quality seafood products from fishing and aquaculture as well as global concern such as social responsibility, environmental impact and sustainability are increasingly in the public consciousness. The lack of properly implemented schemes has often failed to curb fishing effort, prevent overfishing and avoid environmental degradation. Having a clearly defined understanding of each relevant standard’s intent are very important by those seafood supply chain actors concerned.

Dr. Chaiyaporn holds a PhD degree from the Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and United Nation University, Japan. With +18 year of experience Chaiyaporn has been involved in fisheries and aquaculture sectors since 2002 with different organizations e.g. Department of Fisheries of Thailand, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), feed mill and pre-mixture manufacturer for aquatic species as well as various Certification Bodies as a Senior lead auditor/assessor for standards related to fisheries and aquaculture.
