Etisalat Managed Services Solutions (MSS) received an ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certificate in 2012, and it has now been awarded an expanded certification which has increased its coverage to Etisalat data centres and hosting business too. ISO/IEC 27001:2005 is an international standard for the specification of an Information Security Management System (ISMS). It provides a model for best practice in ISMS, ensuring customer information is always protected. Etisalat has also received its report under the International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3402 Type II (formally SAS 70 type II) for its data centres, hosting business and managed services solutions. ISAE 3402 is a certificate in the International Standard on Assurance Engagements. Issued by the US-based International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, it provides independent third-party verified assurance reports on controls at service organisations, a process that gives customers confidence in such organisations' accounting abilities.
