The 7th Atyrau Regional Petroleum Technology Conference will be held on 16 - 17 April 2013 at the Renaissance Hotel in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. This important regional event brings together industry perspectives and experiences on the real issues affecting oil and gas professionals in the North Caspian oil and gas industry.
Madlen King, LRQA Global Head of Climate Change and Sustainability will be speaking on ‘The Status of International Climate Change Policy and the implications for Kazakhstan’. These are interesting times for the region; In January 2013, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Serik Akhmetov, announced that the country would lift the moratorium, which has been imposed since 2008, to allocate new licenses for developing oil and gas resources onshore. This will boost international cooperation for exploring and developing new fields as well as help the country become a top 10 exporter.
